Ms Isabelle Oderberg worked as a journalist for two decades in newswires across Europe and Asia and was Australia’s first social media editor for Melbourne’s Herald Sun. Her work has appeared in The Age/SMH, Guardian, ABC, Meanjin and elsewhere. She is a former editor of Pro Bono News and has worked as a media and communications strategist across the not-for-profit sector. She is now the Deputy CEO of the Public Interest Journalism Initiative. Hard to Bear: Investigating the science and silence of miscarriage is her first book.

Associate Professor Melanie Keep, an Associate Professor at the Sydney School of Health Sciences of The University of Sydney. She is passionate about using research to understand how parents can be supported to navigate life following early pregnancy loss, and advocate for changes to enable this. Her research is collaborative and has included workplace support, peer and social support (including online support groups), and physical activity after miscarriage.
